Pictures are here:So I pulled my old Rockhopper out of my parents' garage, where it has been living for the last 20 years. One of my family members put some tires on it and rode it for a summer a few years ago, but aside from that, it's not really been used since the mid 90's. I'm fairly certain that it's early 90's vintage, but any help working that out would be appreciated.
It's tough to tell from the pictures, but the bike is a dark blue(almost black) color, and the letters are red with a greenish-grey border. Gear change and brakes are Shimano STX, and the gears are marked HYPERDRIVE-C. I found a serial number on the bottom, but the Specialized site isn't much help for older bikes, and I think it's too old for Bikepedia, as well.Any info on the bike, or another resource where I might be able to find some info would be great. 'Specialized had 3 MTB models (top to bottom: Stumpjumper, Rockhopper, Hardrock). Each of these models had 3 levels of trim (top to bottom: Comp, Sport, 'base'). The frames were consistent in all trim levels.
'Obviously a rock hopper, sport model. I'd guess a mid to late 90's. A great bike for sure!

Here are some old to dig through. These older mtb's are very versatile, you have lots of options for it: keep it as is (start riding!), strip it down to a single speed, convert it to a monster cross bike, or sell it - some guys pay good money for them, especially in that condition.
